This is the Beautiful Blonde “Christine” Doll made by Pedigree in the late 1950’s to replace their all hard plastic 21 inch walker dolls. She is the doll I saw in our local Co – op at Christmas 1959 when I was 11 years old and not allowed to have as she was much too expensive. So when I had the chance to buy her 10 years ago …. how could I resist ! She is an unusual doll in the fact she has not been played with at all and the doll and her clothes are very clean. She is made from the early heavy vinyl that Pedigree used when they started manufacturing their New Vinyl range of dolls. She has Blonde Saran rooted hair which was so popular among little girls in the late 1950’s as you could shampoo and set it. She has blue sleeping eyes with her original eyelashes she wears her original labelled dress, original pants and shoes. Her socks I have replaced as when she came to me they were missing. her original Pedigree hangtag is still present and names her. Her original Box is not perfect but has done a very good job in protecting her. She has two marks on her back that I am sure have come from the poppers on her dress – I have not tried to remove them I will add a picture of them later.
