This lovely 12 inch walking doll is in good played with original condition she has sleeping eyes with original eyelashes and her original plaits wig in golden mohair/rayon. The Williams and Steer dolls were made here in the UK and are very difficult to come across so few were made compared to other makes such as Pedigree, Rosebud and Roddy. When a Pedigree 10 inch doll was being sold in Woolworths at the same time at 5/- the Williams and Steer dolls were far more expensive. The plastic these dolls were made from is slightly different to other makes from that time period and is lighter in weight. The doll walks and turns her head as she does – she comes to her new Mummy wearing an original 1950/ 60 flock nylon red dress made by Faerie Glen, this is in very good condition it has a split in one of the plastic button holes so it seems to have always been pinned at the top with a gold safety pin. She also wears white vintage Cinderella shoes which have a split at the back.
