Here is an original wigged baby doll that was originally sold in Woolworths during the 1950’s these were sold alongside Pedigree dolls in their store for 5/- at that time. I know that for sure as I had a doll exactly like this one when I was small and I am lucky enough to still have her.
This doll has not been played with and her original wig is still in place although I did choose to put a new ribbon in her hair. The wig is very clean at the back of her head but has some dustiness around the front so I think she has been wearing a bonnet all these years. There is a lovely peachy colour to her plastic with no fading present at all. She has blue sleeping eyes with hard plastic lashes and roses in her cheeks. There is an opening on the top of her right arm and this is how she must have left the factory. I can fill this on request if you prefer but have left her as she is for the new owner to decide. Dolly is wearing a new hand knitted angel top with matching pants in white and turquoise blue.
